The signing ceremony for the project of Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme (Tranche 2), Package 1: Lot B-220kV Transmission Lines was held at Colombo, Sri Lanka on the 2nd day of May, 2018 by China National Cable Engineering Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CCC) and Ceylon Electricity Board (hereinafter referred to as CEB). Mr. Wang Zhaojie, Chairman of CCC, Mr. Cui Jianxiang, President of CCC and Mr. W.B. Ganegala, Chairman of CEB, Mr. S.D.W. Gunawardana, Additional General Manager of CEB have attended the signing ceremony. The authorized representatives of both parties have officially signed the contract of the project.
During the development of national economic development plan, the government of Sri Lanka has taken the power sector as a priority, and focused on power development. Meanwhile, in response to The Belt and Road Initiative of China, CCC has participated in the international bidding of this project, and was awarded the project on 15th March, 2018. CEB attached great importance to the project and invited the Chairman and the President of CCC to participate in and witness the contract signing.
After the signing ceremony, Mr. Cui Jianxiang, President of CCC held a meeting with Mr. H. Kamal Illeperuma, Project Director of CEB. The Project Director acknowledged and appreciated the professional strength and service attitude shown by CCC during the bidding process and site exploration. The President of CCC expressed the willingness to take this project as a good start and extend our good cooperation with CEB by assuring the best quality and service. CCC and CEB will take this signing as an opportunity to strengthen communication and promote cooperation between the two parties on other projects.
